TORX PLUS® Drive System Audit Policy

Quality Audit Review

Acument is required by worldwide trademark laws to provide for a means of controlling the quality of our trademarked products made by licensees. The way we do this is by auditing samples of your TORX PLUS products. Sample fasteners, drive tools and heading tools are inspected to ensure they meet the specifications for quality and workmanship as called out in our standards. A majority of the licensees receive a 100% audit. There are those, however, who did not receive a 100% audit. This is usually due to problems we regularly see in the audit samples.

Fastener licensees’ with audit rejections is usually a workmanship issue. A Drive tool licensees’ audit with less than 100% is usually the torsional strength being below the minimum allowed. Heading tool licensees’ main cause of rejection is usually a workmanship issue due to the lack of polish on the surface of the punch pin angle.

If Acument rejects any audit samples, we will provide that licensee with possible solutions to the problem and many times ask for corrected samples. Our goal is to have all licensees achieve a 100% acceptable audit.

TORX PLUS® Audit Procedure

Acument reserves the right to change this audit policy at any time.

TORX PLUS® Fastener Audit Policy

Submit 10 pieces of current part numbers in production (maximum of 5 part numbers).
If the % acceptance falls below 100%, we shall advise the reasons for disapproval along with suggestions for corrections of any defects in quality.
Key characteristics that are checked for internal TORX PLUS recesses are the penetration depth, the fallaway depth, the counterbore depth, and visual inspection for workmanship.
Key characteristics that are checked for external TORX PLUS fasteners are the "A" dimension, the fallaway dimension, the drive length, and visual inspection for workmanship.

TORX PLUS® Drive Tool Audit Policy

Submit 5 pieces of current part numbers in production (maximum of 5 part numbers).
If the % acceptance falls below 100%, we shall advise the reason for disapproval.
TORX PLUS® Drive Tool audit samples must have the appropriate trademark.

Drive size required on drive tool.
The words TORX PLUS and/or the licensee name or logo.
When submitting screwdriver blades, one trademarked handle per sample lot must be submitted.

TORX PLUS® Heading Tool Audit Policy

Submit 5 pieces of current part numbers in production (maximum 5 part numbers) ALL PARTS WILL BE RETURNED TO THE LICENSEE AFTER INSPECTION.
If the % acceptance falls below 100%, we shall advise the reason for disapproval along with suggestions for corrections of any defects in quality.
Resubmission will also be required should the TORX PLUSconfiguration not meet the standards.
